When The Akimotos Went To War: An untold story of family, patriotism, and sacrifice during World War II
American Battle Monuments Commission
When the Akimotos Went to War is a full color, paperback nonfiction book. Because the Akimoto family maintained such rigorous records, including photos and letters, it was clear that the story could not be fully told in a few pages. A full nonfiction book would be the best way to communicate the Japanese-American struggle in the United States during World War II as it relates to America's overseas cemeteries.
